Privacy
mdstudio doesn't collect, store, or transmit anything about you or your documents. There is no backend server for your content to pass through.
Where your data lives
- Documents you write or paste are saved in your browser's localStorage, on your device only.
- If you open a local folder, files are read from and written back to your filesystem directly by your browser — mdstudio's code never sees a copy leave your machine.
- A “shareable link” encodes the document itself into the URL fragment (compressed, base64). Nothing is uploaded to generate it — the link simply contains the content.
No accounts, no tracking
There's no sign-up, no analytics, no cookies, and no third-party scripts. The only network requests this app makes are to load its own code and fonts.
Local, optional features
Sound effects and the desk pet run entirely client-side and don't send or receive any data. Both are off by default.
